Letter from General Manager Dave Koster

Welcome to our 2014 Annual Report
Thank you for visiting the 2014 Holland Board of Public Works Annual Report. As a community-owned utility we feel it is important that we share with the community the stories and performance information that represent our work each year.
Through the critical infrastructure we provide, the Holland BPW greatly influences the health and vitality of our community, probably more so than any other single organization. For that reason we take seriously our responsibility to share what we are doing with openness and transparency. Our annual report is one of the ways we do that.
For 2014 we have a lot to share. During our fiscal year we delivered services through one of the harshest winters in memory, continued the efficiency and reliability upgrades to our water system, began work on the new Holland Energy Park and more. Through all our work we maintained our focus on providing the affordability, reliability and sustainability that the Holland community expects and deserves.
This year we have structured our report much like a visitor friendly online magazine. We want to make the information as accessible and relevant as we can and I’m very pleased to present the stories, facts and community impact of our 2014 fiscal year.
I hope you can spend some time with these pages. They represent your investment in one of the best community-owned utilities in Michigan and I hope you can take pride in what you discover as you explore.
