Electric

Reliability for the Community

Meet the man in charge of power transmission and distribution.

Steve Bruinsma loves working with people. In his new role as Electric Transmission & Distribution Superintendent, he gets to do just that. With almost thirty people in the department and many large-scale projects occurring this year, Steve works closely each day with the team to meet goals.

“The electric transmission & distribution department is filled with quality, talented people,” Steve said. “It’s a pleasure to work with this team each day.” Steve has gotten to know his coworkers well over his last 20 years of service at HBPW. He first served twelve years as a systems operator, and next as Metering Supervisor for eight before taking on his newest role as Electric Transmission & Distribution Superintendent earlier in 2016.

“There are a lot of large projects going on right now,” Steve said. “From replacing 28,250 electric meters to building substations, each day presents something different.” Each project is aimed at providing reliable power to the community. Steve is grateful for the opportunity to use his interest in the electrical industry to provide a product that is valuable and reliable to the Holland community.
