The upcoming rollout of a 24/7 access portal will mean customers will soon have greater control over their utilities consumption. The Holland Board of Public Works recently approved the purchase of a meter data management (MDM) software package with customer portal capabilities.

Available online, the portal will improve customer service by providing detailed consumption data, billing information and history. With greater insight into usage patterns, along with contributing data like weather forecasts, customers will be able to make better consumption decisions and potentially reduce their electricity and water bills. Customers will also be able to see a measurable impact of their efficiency practices.
